Crock pot Hot Fudge Cake

I was asked for the recipe for the fudge cake I made in my crockpot so I thought I'd write it down here before I forget. This is seriously yummy and so easy! You've got to try! =) I also have a few 'fruit' dessert recipes for my crock pot that I'd like to try sometime. Who knew you could make dessert in your crockpot?!

Hot Fudge Cake (for your crockpot)
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup flour
3 Tbs. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk
2 Tbs. melted butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 3/4 cup boiling water
vanilla ice cream

1. Mix together 1 cup brown sugar, flour, 3 Tbs. Cocoa, baking powder and salt.

2. Stir in milk, butter and vanilla. Spread over the bottom of slow cooker.

3. Mix together 3/4 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa powder. Sprinkle over the batter in slow cooker.

4. Pour in boiling water. Do not stir.

5. Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

6. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen reasons why I haven't been blogging:

1. Three crazy but wonderfull boys...

2. School with Jonathan.

3. I've been reading everyone elses blog.

4. I'm 17 1/2 weeks pregnant and quite honestly, lazy.

5. I still enjoy a good oh, I don't know...2-3 hour nap every now and again (or at least 4x a week...).

6. I've been always. Is it ever done?

7. My husband got laid off from his job Tuesday (lack of work- they had to lay of 20% of their work one day) and we have been searching for new employment. Don't worry. We're not- God has always taken care of us.

8. I've been sewing maternity clothes or at least thinking about sewing maternity clothes.

9. I have mountains of laundry in our hampers at all times. No matter how much I wash. Why is that? Needless to say laundry in and of itself keeps me busy. As I'm sure all of you can relate to.

10. I have sick babies. Noah was up last night about every 20-30 minutes. It was a long night...way long...too long.

11. I have been baking up a storm. Which is not good for my already increasing size. But c'mon, homemade cinnamon rolls (with cream cheese icing), crock pot fudge cake (with vanilla ice cream), homemade buns (for Italian beef) and chocolate chip cookies are just so good on a cold fall night (with some hot cocoa of course!)- are they not?!

12. I've been spending too much of my computer time on Facebook...sigh gotta love it...or do I hate it for taking up so much of my time? I don't Love...hate? I don't know I could do this all evening...

13. My little sister is over for a few days and I'm going to enjoy my time with her!

Belly picture...

16 weeks 4 days...have 'we' grown?
~Just a side note last week at my ultrasound baby was weighing approximately 5 ounces. I thought that was small until I read today that babies usually weigh about 3 1/2 ounces at the end of 17 weeks! He was probably 5 ounces at 15 1/2 weeks (they're supposed to be about 1 1/2 ounces at 15 weeks...)! Hmmm...interesting. No wonder I feel my babies move so early! (This week I've felt little kicks- some from the outside!)~

Finally back to it again.

Well, I'm finally back in my sewing room again. It feels so good to be at it again! I finished a project for a little girl in our church (it is pictured below)-it's a blanket. I cut out new baby washcloths I had lying around into petals and appliqued them onto the blanket to make a flower. It was so much fun! I've also been sewing myself some maternity clothes. I made two shirts yesterday. Both turned out cute except that I had 'issues' with the sleeves on one of them. Puckers drive me crazy and there are several in one of the shirt's sleeves. Grr...if I ever do get lucky and sew a shirt/dress without puckery sleeves I do a little 'happy' dance (quite literally!). Of course, I'm sure I notice them more than anyone else. So does this explain my absence? ;) Also, I'm going away on a mother/daughter retreat this weekend. I'm excited to be getting away and spending time with my sisters and mother. We always have a great time. Have a great weekend and maybe I'll actually get around to posting a belly picture next week (I'll be 17 weeks Monday...WOW!).

My first prenatal appointment Friday went really well. Everything was good on my end (besides my weight gain...ugh!!) and the baby looked great! My estimated due date was right on with the baby's measurements. April 27th is still my 'official' due date. I almost guarantee I'll go within one or two days of that (I'm usually induced). I really like my doctor. She is very spunky and talkative. Of course she said there was only a 1 in 5 chance I'd have her at the actual birth. She works with four other doctors and I'll get whoevers on call at the time. Not too crazy about that but as long as I get a good nurse I'm good. My nurse with Noah practically delivered him anyway. My doctor with him didn't get to me until after his head had been delivered. Anyway, I ended up being in the doctor's office for three hours. They ran an early sugar test due to my previous big babies (11 1/2 pounds and 10lbs 4 oz.). I knew they'd want to since they did the same thing when I was pregnant with Noah (they've always come back negative ). Anyway, here are a few shots of the baby. I'll be posting some new belly shots this week. Baby and I have grown!

Isn't that side profile just adorable? I'm so in love with this baby already!

Well, it looks like we'll (probably) be adding another boy to our family. ;) This will be confirmed at my 20 week scan in a month.

No, we haven't decided on a name yet. We'll probably be taking 'both' names to the hospital. He'll be either Wyatt Matthew or Grant (got any ideas for middle names?). We'll see what fits him best when we see him. Even though I'm leaning more towards Wyatt. Mainly because my sister-in-law had always really liked Grant and I don't want her to think we stole the name or something. I don't think they plan on having anymore children but still...I don't want to cause any hard feelings. Tim really likes Grant though ( Grant's his idea- has been since before Noah) and it's also a family name so it'd be kind of cool to use. We'll see... Also, for the girl's names- Savannah won out (though tied with KaeLynn) on the poll. If we would've found out we were having a girl we would've probably gone with Savannah Marie. Maybe next time, right? ;) Well, I have some sewing to do for a baby shower gift for a friend so I'd better get going. Keep checking back for belly pictures!

Tomorrow is the big election day so I'm writing this to encourage you all to vote tomorrow. This is probably the most political you'll ever see my blog get. ;) This years election is a very passionate subject for me so I've chosen not to blog about it. I know I'd offend people with my negative views of one of the candidates...his name starts with an 'O'. I just can't help myself...his views on the innocent unborn, military funding (or lack thereof), war, economics, marriage, taxes, ect., ect., ect. are all completely different than my own (can you say socialism?). Frankly, I'm concerned for our nation and our freedom. I know in the end that God is in total control and whoever he wishes to be our countries leader will be. Anyway, my reason for writing this is to tell you to go and vote. Your vote can make a difference!
