Weight loss...

This postpartum weight loss thing gets harder with each baby I have. I'm getting just plain aggravated. I gained 52 pounds with Grant and I've lost 30-32 pounds. Which may sound great to some of you but for the past couple weeks I've lost a total of like 3 pounds. *Sigh* I'm doing everything right. I'm eating healthy (no wheat or dairy, very few sweets and rarely soda), pretty much only drinking water and I've been getting some really good exercise. Don't worry I'm not starving myself. I do try to stay within the 1800-2200 calorie range though. This seems to be working for me when it comes to nursing too. My milk supply is not hurting and Grant is gaining very well (12lbs. 2oz.!). I know, I know, everyone says give it at least nine months but I guess I'm just not patient. I'm just not comfortable in my own skin right now. I'm used to a certain weight and until I get to that weight I just feel flabby, fat and just plain yuck. I'm in a normal BMI range- barely. The idea of using nursing as a way to lose weight just isn't accurate. I never lose all my baby weight until after I'm done nursing. It's really pretty amazing. I remember with Noah I was struggling to lose weight and the very week I stopped nursing him I dropped 5 pounds and then the remaining 7 in about a month. Why is that?! Odd. This time around I think my body thinks that I'm still pregnant or something. Oh well...the joy of nursing my baby is well worth the extra pounds...I think. ;-) Anyway, I'd love to hear from you all what you did to get the baby weight off. The women who drop it all in the first month amaze me! I so wish I was that way!

A picture of Grant just because he's too cute for words! Love this little man!

I dropped a ton of weight after my lil' love was born. BUT, I did NOT lose it all. He also nursed for a year, and I agree with you, that DIDN'T aide me in losing weight. Most of what I lost was water weight. However, I still have a lot to lose!! AND, I even gained weight, of course, after everything happened with My Momma. Being depressed does that. UGH.

P.S. I had just lost 35 pounds before I found out I was pregnant!!! So, the weight thing and I are constantly battling. Weight watchers is always great, that's how I did it before my lil' guy was born, and that's what I'm doing again. They also have plans for nursing mommas! :) (Although, you're little!! I don't think you need to lose any!!....but I'm sure that doesn't change your mind about yourself...we're always our own worst critic!!) Hope you have a good weekend!

Um, I never lost my weight, even after the three year gap between the last one and this baby. Yet I don't really gain weight during pregnancy anymore either...guess my body likes where it is, but I sure don't! I am hoping that if I can get nursing established, maybe it will work for me to lose the weight. But then I do remember being excessively hungry when pumping!!

Have you seen the commerical for slimquick...the animated cartoon of the woman vrs her husband.. they would stop drinking soda...he would lose like 15 she would lose 1...they would add more veggies..he would lose another 5 she would loose her boobs...she said now we both are unhappy.

that is how I feel. My husband and I both have been striving to lose weight and he is succeeding with loosing lots while I struggle for just 1 pound.

I work out way more too! I run on a treadmill every day! for 30 minutes. I am sweating when I am done...I drink nothing but water. I eat salad nearly every day. I eat oatmeal for breakfast...I take in about 1500 calories a day. Yet I dont see much happening. I have been doing this for over a month and I have lost a lousy 3 pounds. I would like to loose 20 in the next 6 weeks, but I seriously dont think that will happen..no matter what I do.

A good thin friend of mine said I need to add in more muscle training..muscle burns fat faster. So now I am adding some weight lifting when I get off the treadmill...guess will see..just wanted you to know that you are not alone
I think it is a combination of 4 kids, age and loss of metabolism. The older we get the slow the metabolism seems to get. They say green tea pumps up the metabolism. so does oatmeal..not sure if that is ok for nursing or not :(

If you have fallen in the grip of overweight and obesity and are eager to trigger off weight loss, you should opt for dieting and physical exercises in the first place. However, when dieting and physical exercises fail to yield results, get hold of diet pills such as Phentermine, Adipex etc but only after getting a doctor’s prescription for the same.
